New Jersey Academy of Arts was founded by Prof. Yong Zhou in Edison, NJ in 1995. The academy has greatly expanded its education programs of fine art in the past 19 years, covering from traditional oil painting, pastel painting, water coloring and pencil art to the modern artistic design and abstract. Generations of students have been introduced to the fascinating world of art with philosophical thinking. The unique teaching of Prof. Zhou has not only widely opened students' horizon in the inexhaustible knowledge of fine arts, also inspired them to continuously explore the wonder of nature. To many of students at academy, painting becomes a fine path of observation and enjoyment of life.
Yong Zhou was born in 1953 in Anhui Province of China. He graduated from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts with his master degree in oil painting. As a renowned oil painting artist, Zhou is currently a professor at the New Jersey Art Academy, which he founded; Artistic Consultant of the Asian Cultural Center in Rutgers University; Deputy Director of the Chinese Department at New England Museum of Connecticut, and professor at Xinjiang Arts institute and Xinjiang Normal University in China.
The Academy is located at 1876 Rt 27 in Edison, inside New Jersey Asian Cultural Center.
